As we welcome the new year, a fresh breeze of excitement sweeps in for Malaysian vehicle owners. The government has introduced a groundbreaking feature allowing Malaysians to renew their driver’s license and vehicle road tax online through the MyJPJ application starting from Feb 1, 2024.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook shared this exciting news, emphasizing that this move is part of the government’s continuous efforts to digitize JPJ services, offering Malaysians a hassle-free option to view and renew their road tax and driver’s license.
To sweeten the deal, the government is providing a RM5 rebate for digital driving license renewals via the app, valid until Dec 31, 2024.
Additionally, starting Jan 2, 2024, MyJPJ introduces a new feature called “Kongsi LKM,” enabling users to share their digital road tax with family or authorized individuals. This feature is a boon for those who share vehicles, allowing users to set a sharing time limit for added security.
To share the road tax digitally, users can click on the vehicle’s license plate number, select the ‘Kongsi LKM’ button, and share the road tax with the authorized individual. An activation code sent via the MyJPJ app ensures secure sharing, and records are automatically deleted if not activated within 24 hours.
